Jorong City is a designated Economic Free Zone located in the southern part of Borneo Island, Indonesia. It is also located near the planned site for Indonesia's new capital relocation. In recent years, the mining sector has been growing, and foreign investment has been significantly increasing.
Jorong City on Borneo Island will collaborate with ECOVITA on developing solar and small hydropower plants, which are emerging as key renewable energy sources.
The MOU also includes collaboration on carbon credit development and the nickel mining project. Additionally, the development of small hydropower plants will be expanded beyond Jorong City to the Lampung region of Sumatra.
Through the eco-friendly Web3 project ECOVITA, the initiative is integrating blockchain technology to engage a wider audience in carbon neutrality efforts.
